Hire Fitness Blog 2012

Hire Fitness has never been busier and is going from strength to strength in this very exciting Olympic year.  There is a lot to tell you but we have to start somewhere, so this first blog entry is all about our latest sponsorship ventures which include two separate Guinness World Record attempts over the next couple of months; both are in aid of charity.

Lee Chamberlain – #Treadmill2012:  Westfield Shopping Centre, London, 15 – 22 September 2012 Lee Chamberlain – Treadmill Training Video Diary   Lee, a Police Officer with Surrey Police, is working with his good friend Alex Flynn to raise money for Cure Parkinson’s Trust in 2012.  In 2009 he broke the furthest distance run on a treadmill, completing 468 miles over 7 days.  In 2011 this record was broken so in conjunction with Alex and his 10 Million Metres fundraising, he is looking to attempt to better the current new world record distance of 517 miles over 7 days!  The event will be held in Westfield Shopping Centre inLondonfrom 15 – 22 September.  Lee was inspired to raise money for Cure Parkinson’s Trust after Alex was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Hire Fitness is delighted to be sponsoring Lee by providing him with a top of the range commercial treadmill to train at home and a further two treadmills for the actual event in Westfieldin September.  With his running, Lee has raised over £13,000 for various charities.  Here is his Just Giving page for #Treadmill2012 if you’d like to help him achieve his goal  Why not come along and say hi – we’d love to see you there!

Craig’s Training Video Diary Craig Timmins and Paddy Rudd – #Cycle2012:  Pelsall, Walsall 6 – 7 July Craig, a personal trainer and semi professional footballer and his friend Paddy are raising money for Cancer Research after both their lives have sadly been affected by the disease with close family members suffering.  This has inspired them to do a 24 hour exercise bike challenge in aid of Cancer Research.  This event is being held by the clock tower in Pelsall,Walsall.  It coincides with the local carnival so promises to be a fun and lively  event. Craig and Paddy have registered the event with The Guinness World Records and are waiting to hear the outcome. Hire Fitness is also delighted to be sponsoring Craig and Paddy’s challenge by providing them with an exercise bike each for training at home and 4 exercise bikes on the 6th and 7th for the actual event.  As with all of our equipment, the bikes are of gym quality and can sustain continued use.
